Migration During COVID-19 Pandemic in Industrial City: Case in Batam City, Indonesia

COVID-19 is a disease which has spread throughout the entire world and was announced as pandemic it infects individuals through air. As result, policies regarding mobility health protocols were implemented. Cities regencies in Riau Islands act entrance gate to Indonesia from other countries due its strategic locations thus migration became very concerning thing, especially Batam, successful city industry, commerce, tourism. This study aims identify flow Batam City regions Province. research used quantitative methods data of people who switched domiciles scope Province provided by Population Civil Registration Service City. After being analyzed descriptively, this shows number migrants out fluctuated 2019- 2021. The destinations origins varied show that distant less demanded. limited access implementation implemented during COVID-19. Reasons migrate mostly are for work with percentage around 16.5 22.7 percent family 12 17.6 percent. However, half 2019 2021 chose “Others” no further specifications provided.
